Stronger, better and more cost effective products of every type are manufactured with the application of industrial engineering. Have your next home superbly built by CMHUSA.
A heads-up: When a factory's product is uniquely different from one unit to the next, as in the case of each modular home being so different from the one before, this is a different kind of manufacturing process—all the more reason to have CMHUSA on your side.
With informed oversight, systems engineering can bring a combination of quality, structural advantages and cost advantages in building a home unmatched by site building a home outdoors somewhere.
Vernon A. Baker Jr
In addition to Mr. Baker's background in residential development and as a 30-year class A contractor (license 2701027417), he is a graduate industrial engineer who in 1973 was recruited by General Electric and introduced to General Electric's inroads into building residential/commercial walls inside a GE plant.
In this photo, Mr. Baker is standing at a very simple subassembly workstation—yes it is simple, but it helps reduce cost. Workstations such as this would make little sense if outdoors building a house on a random site somewhere. This workstation builds prehung door frames.
As an industrial engineer in a General Electric factory, Mr. Baker built a far more complex subassembly workstation to make bi-metal controls for small appliances. Upon completion, the massive equipment was shipped to a GE facility in Singapore, where the bi-metal controls were fabricated and shipped back to GE in Allentown, PA. (As a matter of interest, this was during the initial years leading up to the avalanche of manufacturing leaving the U.S. Not businessmen, our nation's republicans/democrats in Congress ineptly sat back in dismay. 77,000 manufacturing plants ultimately left the U.S., leaving untold American jobs behind.)
